Find out where your vote really goes
Upper House preferences revealed

Meet Glenn Druery (pictured above)
He’s not a candidate. He’s not a local.
He’s a vote farmer.
Candidates pay him to manipulate preferences to get them elected.

In 2018 he was paid by some minor parties to arrange their preference to win seats in our state upper house.
One of his clients got elected with less than 1% of the vote.
In our Southern Region, one of his clients got elected on 2.6% of the vote.
If you vote for a minor party, Glenn may have decided how your vote is cast
in 2022, he’s at it again. He’s organised the preferences flow of some of the 24 parties standing for the upper house.
TWiSK has published the preference flows
TWiSK has published the preference flows of all the candidates in our region, Southern Metropolitan Region.
You can see for yourself where your vote will go if your first choice is not successful – we reckon you will be surprised and maybe even shocked.
But don’t despair….
It’s surprisingly easy to outfox the preference farmers
Do this by voting ‘below the line’ for at least five candidates.
You must number at least five boxes for your vote to count.
It will take a few extra seconds, but your vote elects MPs for four years!

Policy and promise watch

Council maintains a policy and pledge list
Keeping track of promises and pledges is a tricky task, with most candidates using pithy social media posts to make announcements – amongst their campaign happy snaps. But council is giving it a red hot go.

Liberals make last week pitch on live music
Albert Park candidate Lauren Sherson made a live music policy pitch at The Vineyard on Saturday with senior Liberal MLC David Davis  (pictured with Mick Pacholli).
Read their live music media release
Their six point plan includes a $150 million Home Grown Events Victoria Fund and $1 million in grants to upgrade and maintain venues.
There’s also a suite of reforms to insurance, planning and liquor licensing regulations.
Also promised by Liberals is $1.5 million towards upgrades at Middle Park Bowls Club and $400 for South Melbourne Greek Orthodox Church hall upgrades.
Lauren Sherson said she was proud of her pitch to voters.
“13 local policies is probably the largest commitment Albert Park’s ever received. Imagine then, what we can achieve together with me as your local member.”
Green light for Kim, Georgie and Cassandra
Controversial traffic light election guide has rated three local candidates with Green lights, giving Labor and Liberals an Amber rating.
While this is predictable and disputable, it did put a smile on some Facebook pages.
