Independent

Sally Gibson
Independent for Brighton

“I’m tough through exceptional experience, delivering: disruption of political corruption; advocating plans for climate targets; government intervention to stop spiralling living costs; small business support.”

In her own words
Who am I

I’m an Elwood working mum of two adult daughters. Volunteering for local community groups since finishing Star of the Sea College, graduating with a political science degree from Melbourne University.
Why
Politicians have failed us. Climate change, hospitals, political corruption and the cost of living crisis need fixing; our 2500 small business owners and their workers in Brighton need an advocate.
Why me
I’m a change agent with broad experience in all areas of State Government, an unblemished track record in community and social improvement, and strong political science and media background.
Skills, interest, values
Deep understanding of government from the highest office to the smallest; UN climate conference delegate; small business operator. Compassionate, brave, inclusive, totally independent and a fighter for fair for all.
Why here
My family has deep roots in the seat back to the 1890s. I’ve fought successfully for childcare funding, height limits and to determine the character and amenity of the area.

Who am I?
I’m a science teacher at a local high school. I have a Bachelor’s degree in science and a Master’s degree in education from the University of Melbourne.
Why?
I have a strong connection with the natural environment and am frustrated at the growing inequality in our society. I want to do my bit to stop climate change.
Why me?
I will support investment in the arts, improving health infrastructure, and protecting the environment. With your vote, the Greens will create positive change for a fairer and safer future.
Why here?
I both live and work in the seat of Brighton. I’ve worked at the Melbourne Montessori School in Brighton East for many years and recently started a family here.

Independent

Felicity Frederico OAM
Independent for Brighton

In her own words
Who?
I am a proud mum, lifetime Bayside resident, former Mayor and businesswomen with over 20 years of volunteering, actively listening and acting in our community. This was recognised with an Order of Australia medal in 2019.
Why?
I am standing because the Brighton electorate deserves better. Many in our community have said the major political parties have taken us for granted and have lost our trust and respect. We have been starved of an effective voice, representation and advocacy.
Why me?
I have a proven track record around advocacy and delivering on key issues. In collaboration with the community I make sure we speak in one loud voice on the issues that matter to us: integrity, climate and equality
Why here?
I have a lifetime connection in the Brighton Electorate, including living in Elwood for eight years. We are an electorate with a heart and a conscious and we embrace diversity.
