Mabo Day Flag Raising Ceremony @ Town Hall
Friday 3 June, 11 am
Council will host two Mabo Day events on 3 June, starting with a traditional smoking ceremony at St Kilda Town Hall from 11 am-1 pm, followed by a family-friendly, alcohol free concert at Betty Day Community Centre, from 4-7pm.
Celebrate with Torres Strait Islander and Melbourne-based musicians DREWZ, performing a blend of soul, funk and reggae and Kiwat Kennell delivering his unique acoustic hip-hop. Supporting them will be traditional Torres Strait Island dancers Dion Drummond and James China.

Adult’s Crafternoon @ Linden New Arts
Introduction to drawing with artist Leith Maguire
Sunday 5 June, 2 pm – 4 pm
This workshop is aimed at beginners, and will cover the basics of observational drawing including the use of line to create tone and form. Participants will be encouraged to explore and experiment with different methods of (and approaches to) media application, and will then create their own compositional drawing – taking inspiration from objects found in nature.
