Liberals pledge $15m for Albert Park upgrades

Local Liberal candidates Georgie Crozier (MLC Southern Metro Region) and Lauren Sherson (Albert Park) were on hand on Saturday to announce two big funding pledges: $10m for better sporting facilities and $5m for much needed lake wall upgrades.
Albert Park sports clubs have long campaigned for more funding for this important patch. The wall will help the lake become deeper, cleaner, safer, and better equipped to collect stormwater to help irrigate the rest of Albert Park Reserve.
Both Green and Blue have pledged
Last week (as reported in TWiSK), the Greens also made a $5m pledge about the lake wall.
An elated Hugo Armstrong, President of the Albert Park Sports Clubs
Association, told TWiSK it was great to see the multiple pledges flowing in.
‘We are looking forward to hearing how Labor will pitch in for the Park”, he said.
No doubt Hugo will be asking a question or two at the unChain candidate’s forum at Memo on Thursday.
