This Week in St Kilda started in February 2016 and we’ve are very proud to have brought you over 100 weekly selections of the best in arts, theatre and community in our St Kilda.
Local win for Pride design
St Kilda architects have won the competition to design the new Victorian Pride Centre on Fitzroy Street. The winning proposal (above), from Grant Amon Architects, and Brearley Architects and Urbanists, was described by jury chair Dimity Reed as a memorable and exuberant building that claims the street. HIR @ Redstitch

Red Stitch kicks off the year with HIR – offered as part of Midsumma – a tenderly heartfelt and highly intelligent new work from Taylor Mac, whose A 24-Decade History of Popular Music was the critical smash hit of the 2017 Melbourne Festival.

Kudditji – The Master of Colour @ Laneway Artspace

The Laneway Artspace is honoured to host their most ambitious exhibition yet – ‘Kudditji – The Master of Colour’ – a major retrospective of the works Kudditji Kngwarreye (1930–2017).
Presented with ’The Shape of Light’ – Bulgarian-born Artist, Krasimir Bekyarov’s Australian Solo Exhibition Debut. Krasimir’s wondrous stoneware and porcelain creations will star in a fully-illuminated exhibition.
