Volunteer beach patrols start next weekend @ St Kilda Life Saving Club
With professional lifeguards patrolling Monday through Fridays, volunteers take over on weekends and public holidays from next weekend until mid-April. You’ll see then watching between the flags, helping people with information and keeping swimmers safe.
Also next weekend is the first Bronze Medal training course for would-be life saving volunteers.
There are still places available, contact the club for details.

Nadine Garner will present Sisters in Crime’s 27th Scarlet Stiletto Awards alongside crime author and show biz sister, Jane Clifton.
These awards for short crime stories written by Australian women will deliver a record $10,460 in prize money.
Nadine will announce the winners from the 241 entries and 25 shortlisted authors during a special online ceremony.

Big screen, big sound bliss is back @ Astor
From Thursday 26 November
With limited seating but great sound and that big screen, escape your lounge to the Astor for two powerful new releases: Tenet and David Byrne’s American Utopia.
Shown as single features, both these films are made for the big screen, big sound experience.
Tenet is a sci-fi thriller meets futuristic black Bond action.
American Utopia is a Spike Lee film that documents the former Talking Heads front man’s brilliant, timely 2019 Broadway show, based on his recent album and tour of the same name – wow.
