Not so ‘Ordinary’ council meeting @ Town Hall
Wednesday 21 June, 6.30 pm
Don’t be distracted by the budget rumble, this ordinary council meeting will sign off on some very important policies, including:
Community Amenity Local Laws: No real surprises here, council carefully seeks to avoid a greater role in policing antisocial street behaviour and short-stay accommodation (although a separate report is coming in August);
Review of the Transport Strategy: there are significant updates related to post COVID transport use – transport nerds should read this fascinating description of the ‘context changes’
St Kilda Live Music Precinct: Likely to be supported after significant community support reflected in the feedback.
There’s also a motion from Cr Baxter to reaffirm Council’s commitment to LGBTIQA+ Community.

Away @ Theatre Works

Shakespearean in structure, but deeply personal in tone, Michael Gow’s Away is a uniquely Australian look at small families… and their epic stories. In the Summer of 1967, as the Vietnam War rages, we join three separate suburban families as they pack-up their prawns and head for the Gold Coast. All there to celebrate Christmas in their own special way until a magical tempest enmeshes them and they fall apart, fall together, and fall in love. Directed by Steven Mitchell Wright.
