E-scooter trips nearly 6,000 per day
Love them or fear them, e-scooters have been picked up by Melbournians nearly 6,000 times per day and taken them over 1.2M kilometres in just the first three month of this year.
The map shows the most popular routes for Q1 2022, including the CBD, Southbank, Docklands and the popular Beaconsfield Parade path.
It also shows the flexibility of the scooters, presumably proving an option between walking and PT or car.

Below is the official data from the e-scooter trial (only the official scooters not including private scooters) from the four council trial areas – cities of Melbourne, Yarra, Stonnington and Port Phillip.

Macnamara margin between Labor and Green was just a few hundred votes
While Josh Burns can be justifiably proud to be returned with a two-party preferred vote over 62%, Greens sources were also proud and astounded by how close they came to winning.
As counting dragged on, it took until Wednesday last week for Steph Hodkins-May to concede defeat and congratulate Josh Burns.
In an email to supporters she wrote:
“We came so close. Macnamara ended on a knife edge and is now one of the most marginal seats in Australia. The result looks like it will come down just 300 or so votes, a narrow Labor win.”
Remarkable result
If the 300 vote margin is accurate, it is a remarkable outcome for the Greens and their community campaigning team.
But it is also a positive result for Labor, with Josh also increasing his primary vote.
Together Greens and Labor increased the progressive vote by about 6%.
Alongside the success of the Teal independents, the progressive local vote delivers a powerful message about climate, integrity and equality.
TWiSK will publish the exact figures when they are released by the AEC.
