In case you missed it last week
Watch Mayor Marcus Pearl’s first interview

10 minutes (in full and unedited)
Marcus Pearl was elected unopposed as Mayor a recent special Council meeting.
He is the first Liberal aligned Mayor since Port Phillip was created in 1994.
He was first elected to Council in 2016 and was Deputy Mayor previously.
Cat got your tongues?
Last week TWiSK invited comment from readers on the Mayoral election.
To date we received only one response, included here in full:
Transparency important says Love
“Disappointed to see a Liberal Mayor of Port Phillip which has a history of progressive councils and still has a progressive majority despite the underhand tactics of the Liberal Party and it’s so called Ratepayers fronts pretence of independence.
I remember Cr Pearl acknowledging expert advice on pill testing yet voting against based on a single personal experience. Elected representatives need to be able evidence-based decisions.
Transparency in Government is important in these times of cynical attitudes towards our elected representatives.”
